Cooper Barrett

Cooper Barrett came to General Hospital as one
of the mercenaries holding the Metro Court hostages.

Coop had extensive training in the U.S. Army in the
Iraq War along with his buddy, Logan Hayes. Coop was
hired by a James Craig to help him steal a briefcase
that supposedly contained top secret information that would
incriminate certain governments. Coop was named Three
by Craig.

When Craig stormed the Metro Court to get the briefcase,
Three was led into the vault by Maxie Jones to retrieve the
briefcase, but acting out of panic, Sam hit the hotel's security
button which closed the vault for 12 hours with Maxie and Coop
caught inside.


Over the course of the next 12 hours, Maxie became very honest
and open with Coop about her past life and her failures as a
person and about her recent fiasco with Lucky Spencer. Coop
was initially perturbed with her, but as time grew on he started
to feel sorry for her and even began to like her.

Coop told Maxie he was going to earn one million dollars for
his role in the heist and needed it to spend on his girl friend
where he lived.

When the Metro Court lobby was blown up, Coop and Maxie
narrowly escaped with their lives. Maxie made Coop take off
his black uniform and then lied to rescue workers and the
police about who he was, thus saving Coop from imprisonment.

After the hostage crisis was over, Coop showed up at Maxie's
room in the Scorpio house saying he had no place to go, so Maxie
hid him out at the police commissioner's house.

Maxie managed to get Coop a job working as a security officer
at the Metro Court with Max Giambetti as his boss who was
now working for Carly as head of the Metro Court security
instead of for mobster Sonny Corinthos.

Max soon recognized him as one of the mercenaries and told
Sonny. Sonny had him hauled in to his office in the coffee shop
letting Coop know in no uncertain terms he either become
a cop and a mole for Sonny at the Port Charles Police
Department or else Coop would find himself in an early grave.

Coop had no recourse, either be found out by the cops for his
role in the Metro Court crisis or work for Sonny.

After Maxie tells him he can no longer stay in her room,
Cooper calls his old Army buddy, Logan Hayes for money.
Logan comes to town to help Coop but also to find his
long lost daddy.

Cooper rented an apartment at Kelly's where he and Maxie
spend many nights in blissful making love.

Maxie, Cooper and Logan all join heads and try to blackmail
Scott Baldwin once Maxie finds out that Scott is the one
who really killed Dr. Rick Webber 5 years ago and not
Laura Spencer, but the plan doesn't work too well.

When Coop told Maxie he was going to be a cop, Maxie started to
freak out because she had lost her former boyfriend a cop, Jesse
in a shooting, but Maxie soon calmed down and even stole
the answers to the police academy test.

In the meantime, Lorenzo Alcazar, desperate to knock off
Sonny and Jason hire some incompetent hit men who try and
take out Sonny and Jason in the cellar under Kelly's. Coop
and Logan are upstairs when the shooting starts and rush
downstairs to aid Sonny and Jason in the shootout.

One of the hit men escapes with Maxie as a hostage, but
Coop stops them and then in front of Mac Scorpio, Coop
shoots the hit man right between the eyes while he is holding
a gun to Maxie's head.

Coop, armed with the test answers impressed Ric Lansing
the acting District Attorney as being the cadet who scored the
highest test results ever on the test. So After hearing
about how Coop held his cool shooting the hit man, Ric
immediately hires Coop as a cop working the streets in
Port Charles.

Cooper Barrett is played by Jason Gerhardt from 2007 to present.
