Carly Corinthos .... Flashy, Bold, Brave and making lovey

Carly Corinthos.... there's never a dull moment when
Carly is on the scene at General Hospital.

Carly is strong in character, yet tender in heart.
She's a very making lovey woman, yet a tomboy at times.
Carly can be a business manager or manager of
everyone else's life.

Carly loves her two little boys, Michael and Morgan,
and will do anything to protect them, but she is a
woman who can just never find a true love that will
see her as she really is and respect her for that,
plus stay around for the long term.

But Carly's emotions sometimes get the best of her
and she devises all these little plots and plans
scheming to get what she thinks she wants.

Carly was born the illegitimate child of Bobbi Spencer,
a teenage hooker who gave her up for adoption to
Frank and Virginia Benson. Frank abandoned the family
when she was a preschooler leaving the family poor.

Carly resented being poor and resented her adoptive mother
for not telling her the truth about her adoption. She found
out accidentally when she was 13 and afterwards ran wild.

When Carly came to Port Charles, she called herself Carly
Roberts. She'd assumed the name of her best friend,
Charlotte "Carly" Roberts, who was presumed dead in a car
accident when they were teenagers. However the real
Charlotte Roberts later surfaced as FBI Agent
Reese Marshall, which led to many heated problems
with Carly and Reese, especially since Reese and Sonny
Corinthos became lovers.

Carly's real name was Caroline Leigh Benson. Bobbie learned
the truth and mother and daughter patched up their relationship.
Carly later learned that her biological father was John Durant,
one of Bobbie's regular johns, and Carly also developed a
relationship with him, although it was poor most of the
time before he died. Durant was a Federal Prosecutor
who hated Sonny Corinthos and tried his best to keep
Carly away from him, but the more he tried, Carly
always stuck up for Sonny. Durant was shot by a
crazed lunatic from the Miami mob, Manny Ruiz.


One of Carly's first items on her revenge list after
coming to Port Charles was to sleep with Bobbie's
husband, Tony Jones.

Carly also slept with AJ Quartermaine the same night
and become pregnant. Carly convinced her former lover
Jason Morgan to raise Michael which he did for a year
until Robin Scorpio, Jason's girlfriend blew the
whistle and AJ found out Michael was his son.


Carly suffered from post-partum depression after Michael
was born and left Port Charles, but when she returned
Tony Jones abducted the baby, thinking he was his son.
Michael was recovered and Tony was put on trial. Carly
shot him in court, wounding him, when he was found not
guilty by reason of insanity. Carly, also judged temporarily
insane, was committed to a mental hospital for a time
after the incident and Jason continued to raise Michael.

After Robin's outburst, Carly then married AJ for a time
to keep Michael.


However, Carly was unhappy with the Quartermaines and had
an encounter with mobster Sonny Corinthos and became pregnant
by him. She miscarried that baby after she had a fight
on a staircase with AJ that ended with her fall down
the steps. Carly divorced AJ and married Sonny.

Michael was illegally adopted by Sonny after Sonny forced
AJ to sign away his parental rights. Sonny ordered his
henchmen to hang AJ from a meat hook and threaten to
kill him if he did not give up Michael.

Carly also later had a son, Morgan Corinthos, by
Sonny, who was born while she was being held captive in a panic
room by Sonny's half-brother Ric Lansing, who intended to raise
the baby as his own. Carly was accidentally shot in the head by
Sonny while giving birth to Morgan in the rescue attempt. Sonny
and Carly divorced.

After three failed marriages with Sonny, each of them
full of lots of love and lots of fights, Carly married,
then after a very short time, divorced mobster Lorenzo Alcazar.

Carly then became involved with Jasper Jaxs Jacks,
a corporate raider after his lover, Courtney Mathews
became pregnant and died after childbirth. Carly
and Courtney were best friends, so Carly decided she
should take care of the baby. However the baby was
not really Jax's, but belonged to Nikolas Cassadine.
Robin Scorpio again played whistle blower. Jaxs
left Port Charles for Egypt where Carly flew to
get him back much to the chagrin of Sonny.

Carly and Jaxs finally got things together and were going
to get married, but when Carly witnessed Sonny shooting
Lorenzo Alcazar, Carly was forced to re-marry Sonny
to keep him from going to jail.

While this was going on Jaxs was off to Siberia looking for
his brother Jerry. When he returned and found out Carly
was married it almost cancelled their plans of marriage, but
Carly did get Sonny to finally give her the divorce which
opened the door for Carly and Jaxs to get married.

Even with their strong love for each other, it might not
be enough to sustain the marriage because Jaxs is
always sticking up for his brother Jerry, who turned out
to be the person who held Carly hostage in the Metro
Court crises and blew up the Metro Court lobby. And,
Jaxs is constantly having to deal with Carly running back
to Sonny and as always, her best friend, Jason.
