Amelia Joffe

Amelia Joffe came on General Hospital looking to
avenge her father's murder by Sam McCall.

Amelia's mother and father split when she was a
teenager. Amelia and her mother moved to New York,
but her father a Bill Monroe stayed behind in
Los Angeles where he had a very successful real
estate development and made a lot of money. Amelia
had very little contact with her father after her
parents divorced.

Apparently Amelia had a husband in the past to
have gotten the last name Joffe, but she hasn't revealed
much of her past to date.

Amelia's father became the victim of a scam operated
by Sam McCall who's first name she then used was Angela.
Angela and Bill married and the night Angela Monroe
cleaned out his bank accounts, Bill became enraged
and almost killed her, but Angela found a double barrel
shotgun and shot Amelia's father in the chest
mortally wounding him.



On March 08, 2007 Amelia came to General Hospital
as a hostess of a news program on a New York
TV station. Amelia saw the news clipping of Sam McCall
playing hero in the Port Charles Metro Court hostage
crisis, and then recognized Sam as Angela Monroe her
father's wife, and began to make plans to destroy Sam.

Amelia went to talk with Sam about producing a new
show called Everyday Heroes where everyday people
become heroes for a moment in their lives. After
much convincing from Amelia, Sam agreed to host the
show.

Amelia hired one of her production managers to
dig up as much dirt on Sam as they could, and he
found out that Bill Monroe was the 5th such scam Sam
had ran on unsuspecting men.

Amelia's plan was to build up Sam and the show
to the point where the entire nation adored Sam,
then expose her to the world for the scam artist
she really was, thus destroying Sam's life as
pay back for killing her father.

But the show hit such high ratings that not only
did Sam's career skyrocket, but also did Amelia's.

Amelia ran into Sonny Corinthos when the tabloids
starting reporting that Sam was the mistress of a
reputed mob boss. Amelia tried to get Sonny to issue
and injunction against the media to stop them.

On the night of Sonny's former wife's (Carly Corinthos)
wedding to Jasper Jacks, Sonny called Amelia and
requested for her to meet him in a private room
at the Metro Court where they ended up making love.

Amelia went back to Sonny's office several times
afterwards just to have more making love with him.



Amelia figured out the best way to hurt Sam was to
tell Sonny and Sam's boyfriend, Jason Morgan all
about her past, so she did.

In the meantime, Everyday Heroes taped a segment
with a Maureen Harper who had a child die in a house
fire. Maureen happened upon the city park where
Elizabeth Spencer was playing with her children,
Cameron and her new baby Jake Spencer and when
Elizabeth wasn't looking, stole the baby.

However Sam happened to see Maureen take the baby,
but wouldn't confess, even though the real father of
Jake was her boyfriend, Jason Morgan. But, Sam
did tell Amelia she witnessed the crime.

When Amelia called Maureen, she wouldn't give consent
to air the program, but Amelia heard a baby crying in
the background. She had a gut feeling it was Jake and
tipped off Jason. Jason and Amelia drove to Maureen's
house where they found baby Jake and where Maureen
told Amelia and Jason that Sam saw her take the baby.

Amelia came back to Sam with the info that Jason
knew what a scoundrel she was and hoped they
suffered a severe breakup.

Amelia Joffe on General Hospital is played by
Annie Wersching.

Annie has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre,
which she received in 1999 from Millikin University.

Annie began her acting career with a guest appearance
on Star Trek: Enterprise, and moved on to guest starring
roles on such shows as Charmed, Killer Instinct and
Supernatural.
